It's been awhile!

Hi there!
Well, I'm still alive and I finally received my Master of Arts in Digital Media Studies this past May - see look:

I'm now in the process of looking for a career job now. I don't want to be a lifeguard for the rest of my life, although some have made it their life. I'm going to Vegas and San Diego for Comic Con in July with Melissa - a few days after my birthday. I'm rather excited by it and don't mind working some of the shifts I have been because I'm going to need that money. Anyways, I plan to take pictures and video of our road trip. :)

Also, I'm going to try and start up my movie reviews again. I saw Green Lantern today for Father's Day and I'm still trying to wrap my brain around how some critics hated it. it has Ryan Reynolds half-naked through most of it and it's a superhero movie! Those movies always seem to have their own category and are as my dad called it "mind popcorn." Fluffy for the most part and the graphics were nothing to sneeze at.
I've also seen Thor this summer as well as the latest Pirates. I had more issue with Pirates - it had nothing to do with Johnny Depp, it had more to do with one of the story lines; freaking left me hanging!

Going to see Super 8 tomorrow with Melissa and this one I'm extremely excited about. I've been waiting for this movie to come out since I'm both a Spielberg and J.J. Abrams fan. So be on the lookout for that review soon. :)

First week of internship done!

So I've finished my first week of my internship at Channel 39. I'm a creative services intern and I'm learning that sometimes things do not go according to plan, especially when the machines decide to not cooperate. I've put together a couple of PSAs, one of which was about an app for kids to remember to brush and floss. Also, I've learned how to put together a generic promo - I did one for People's Court. I've updated promo production lists and now I understand why some promos might not get out and others do. Master Control is pretty fascinating, although it's a bit small but it is a small station. There are TVs on almost everywhere (there's one in one of the women's restrooms. I'm not kidding!) and I'm liking the people I work with. Seems like everyone in some department needs a intern and I'm trying to let go my fears about failure from my last internship. My internship coordinator likes me and told me that I'm doing a great job and I'm getting a lot of little but important tasks done in a fairly quick fashion.

Movie review: The Season of the Witch

So, I always feel awkward whenever I have to wear my uniform from the Natatorium outside of work. I should clarify it's my Aquatic Specialist uniform which consists of this white polo and for whatever reason I always manage to get stains on it. Anyway, after work I went to go see a movie with my parents and yeah I was embarrassed for another reason. Okay, I know I haven't done my other two movie reviews yet - but let's just say this one kinda got to me. WARNING: Not much happiness lies ahead...

Other movie reviews

Okay, I have to work today so the movie reviews will have to wait until after I'm done. I will more than likely do The King's Speech as a different post from True Grit - as I found out AMC is showing the original 1969 version of True Grit and I want to do a comparison of the two.
Sorry for the short post - but I will try to update this soon enough! :)

Panther Illustrator fun

Not off to a great start with this...

Again, I'm going to have to post my reviews later - I decided to get creative in Illustrator and Blogger was being cranky with me earlier! Or maybe I should just do one right now...but which one?

New banner

I know I said I would do my movie reviews - but I've got a headache and rather sore from working out right now. But I did manage to make some kind of banner in Photoshop fairly quick.

Tomorrow I should be able to post my thoughts on those movies. I enjoyed them all, but each had it's good points and some parts I wasn't too sure about. Also, I've been watching a couple of movies that are now on DVD, namely this cute movie called Flipped that I'll talk about as well.

First post and welcome!

Hey y'all,
My name's Lindsay but some people call me Lin and this is my new blog!
I'm hopefully going to keep this one up better and will post things such as movie reviews, my TV show obsessions (well it's really just Chuck right now), and projects that I've done or will do. I have some stuff I've created that I can't use in my portfolio and some videos that need some serious re-editing that I have on my Vimeo site. Plus, I've seen others stuff and it inspires me to do better since a lot of that stuff is awesome. I'd like to have some feedback, hopefully it is critical and good feedback!

Well, that's all for now. My next post(s) will be about the movies I've seen recently: True Grit, The King's Speech and Tron: Legacy. As to when I will post them, hopefully soon.

EDIT: I've not made a background yet for it and I'm still working on what I want. It's really not where I want it to be yet...
